Visual Testing - Level 1 or 2 
Description
These courses have been designed to provide a full appreciation of the methods and practices of visual testing. A high theory and practical content is offered within these courses in preparation for either PCN Level 1 or PCN Level 2 examinations. The courses meet the relevant training hour requirements as specified in the relevant PCN document.

  • Lighting
  • Environmental factors, direct and indirect methods of visual assessment
  • Visual inspection equipment
  • Surface conditions
  • Inspection and testing criteria
  • The reporting of results
  • Codes and standards
  • Product technology (welds, castings, wrought), in-service and secondary process defects.
Pre-requisites for attending this course:
    None. If attempting a PCN examination the requirements of PCN/GEN must be met (Appendix E5).
