Ultrasonic Pre-Approval - Level 2 (Welds - Castings - Wrought Products)
Description
This course is a combination of the UT Introduction & UT Theory & Practice courses.
These courses are PCN recognised and provides excellent preparation for the level 2 examinations. It meets in full the training hour requirements as specified by the relevant PCN Documentation. (120 hrs - 3 weeks).
This course can be specific to either Welds, Castings or Wrought Products.
Course content:
None. Attempting a PCN examination the requirements of PCN/GEN must be met. If attempting an ASNT, EN 4179 / NAS 410 examination the requirements of your company's written practice must be met.

- ➢ Ultrasound
- ➢ Principals of Ultrasonic Testing
- ➢ Flaw detector (Operation & Use)
- ➢ Defect location & sizing techniques
- ➢ Use of Calibration & reference blocks
- ➢ Plotting systems
- ➢ Examination of samples, welds, castings & wrought products
- ➢ Report writing and discussion of relevant standards & specifications (BS, EN etc)
None. Attempting a PCN examination the requirements of PCN/GEN must be met. If attempting an ASNT, EN 4179 / NAS 410 examination the requirements of your company's written practice must be met.
